What is SoarStats?
SoarStats analyzes results from F3K hand-launch glider competitions worldwide. Every score from every round is processed to reveal task difficulty patterns, pilot strengths, and competitive ratings. Whether you're preparing for your next competition or curious how you compare globally — the data is here.
Pilot ELO Rating
Every pilot has a rating starting at 1500. When you fly in a round, your rating adjusts based on how you perform against your group — beating higher-rated pilots gains you more points, losing to lower-rated pilots costs more.
Because all pilots in a group fly the same task under the same conditions, the system automatically accounts for task difficulty and weather. Only relative performance within your group matters.
Ratings update after every round across all competitions in the database, but only end-of-day ratings are displayed.
Task Difficulty Index
Each task gets a difficulty score based on three factors: how far the average score falls below perfect (1000), how often pilots land out (score zero), and how much scores vary between pilots.
A low index (green) means the task is forgiving — most pilots score well. A high index (red) means the task punishes mistakes or demands advanced strategy.
Use it to identify which tasks need the most practice time.
