Task B2 — Last Two (10 min)
Last 2 flights; 4 min max in 10 min
About this task
Rule: Last 2 flights count. 4 min max per flight. Unlimited flights in 10 minutes working time.
The Challenge: Longer flights (4 min max) require genuine thermal support. With 10 minutes total, time seems generous — but two 4-minute flights plus turnarounds consume nearly all of it. The compound pressure intensifies: a great first flight raises stakes on the second.
Decision factors:
- 4 minutes requires finding and working real thermals
- After a strong first flight, do you play safe on the second or push for max?
- If first flight used 5-6 minutes, you have limited time for retries
- Failing the second flight when the first was good is devastating — no recovery time
- Landing-out rate (10.4%) is the highest of any multi-flight task
What the data says: Significantly harder than B1 — difficulty 85.3 vs 61.0. The 4-minute target transforms this from an execution task into a decision task. 23% failure rate with 29% max rate creates high volatility. 1,600 entries — the more common version.
