About this task
Rule: All pilots launch simultaneously. 3 min max. 4 flights per round.
The Challenge: The extra flight gives a safety cushion. Pilots can afford to use one launch for exploration and still have 3 solid attempts. The group dynamics remain, but individual risk-taking is more viable.
Decision factors:
- 4 flights means one 'free' exploratory launch
- Can afford to break from the group on one attempt without catastrophe
- Higher max rate suggests the extra attempt helps pilots find ideal conditions
- Group coordination still matters but individual variance increases
What the data says: Small sample (42 entries) but shows higher max rate (38%) and slightly higher avg (774) than C1. The extra flight genuinely helps — easier than C1 despite similar failure rate. Rarely used in competition.
