About this task
Rule: 5 flights to declared time. Pilot chooses target times. Unlimited flights in 10 minutes working time.
The Challenge: Five declarations instead of three — drastically more complex. Each call is typically shorter (you need 5 to fit in 10 minutes), but 5 sequential strategy decisions compound uncertainty. Missing even one means heavy penalty.
Decision factors:
- Must balance 5 declarations within 10 minutes — each flight is shorter
- 5 decisions means 5 opportunities to fail
- 44% zero rate — nearly half of pilots fail completely
- Extremely rare format that few pilots have practiced
What the data says: The hardest task version in the entire database. Difficulty 143.0, avg score only 397, failure rate 44%. Only 9 entries — this format is almost never used, and when it is, pilots struggle enormously. The 5-declaration requirement overwhelms strategic planning capacity.
