About this task

Rule: 5 flights in order. First target 1 minute. 30 seconds added after each successive launch.

The Challenge: Targets escalate: 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, 3:00. Early flights are easy (1 min is almost free) but the progression tightens as targets grow.

Decision factors:

  • Early steps are near-guaranteed, so the task 'starts easy, finishes hard'
  • The 2:30 and 3:00 targets require real lift

What the data says: 51% score above 900 — the structured progression gives most pilots good partial scores even when they fail the highest target. Only 8.1% fail catastrophically. The 'ladder' structure means scores cluster high because the first 3 steps (1:00, 1:30, 2:00) are achievable for most pilots. The 40.5% scoring 950+ represents those who cleared all 5 targets. Low difficulty (55.6) reflects the built-in safety net of easy early steps.
