About this task
Rule: Single launch only. Max 9:59. 1 flight in 10 minutes working time.
The Challenge: The standard 'One Flight' — nearly 10 minutes of potential flight time, but you must commit to a single launch. The most agonizing decision: launch early (risking dead air later) or wait (risking running out of time)?
Decision factors:
- Launch timing is everything — one decision, one outcome
- 10-minute window gives more patience — you can wait 3-4 minutes for conditions
- Max of 9:59 means conditions must sustain for nearly the full working time
- No recovery whatsoever — if you land, that's your score
- Watching others launch while you wait is psychologically brutal
What the data says: 23% max rate with 36% failure rate — the signature bimodal pattern. 14.1% land out entirely. The 'empty middle' is extreme: you either read conditions right (max) or wrong (crash). Difficulty 111.8. 1,073 entries — the standard One Flight format.
