Task L2 — One Flight (7 min)
Single launch; max 6:59 in 7 min
About this task
Rule: Single launch only. Max 6:59. 1 flight in 7 minutes working time.
The Challenge: The compressed version — same single-launch concept but in a tighter 7-minute window. Less time to wait for conditions, higher pressure to commit early. The shorter max time (6:59) means the flight itself is shorter, but the decision window is more compressed.
Decision factors:
- Only 7 minutes total — less time to observe and wait
- Must commit earlier than L1 — can't afford to wait 4 minutes
- 16.5% landing-out rate (highest of any One Flight version) — compressed timing creates panic launches
- Max of 6:59 is more achievable if you find lift, but finding lift quickly is the problem
What the data says: Slightly harder than L1 despite the shorter target — difficulty 115.2 vs 111.8. Avg score 594 vs 613. The tighter window forces earlier (worse) launch decisions. 21% max rate with 39% failure rate. 176 entries — less commonly used than L1.
